Sassy Sentinel—Lithograph

It’s the age-old standoff between pursuer and pursued. On this afternoon, an owl—predator of other birds—has become the pursued. The blue jay’s goal is to wake up the neighborhood to the threat. His loud, raucous rants rally nearby birds to the presence of DANGER. The owl has been owlted, and wants nothing more than to get out of town fast before the blue jay’s allies arrive. Somewhere in the forest there must be another hidey-hole. The owl could wait until dark when he could fly off without detection, but whooo could stand the din until then? Better to escape now than endure the sassy sentinel and the attacks of his avian allies.

Linda and Dr. Ron Anderson owned the original painting of Sassy Sentinel until 2019. They generously donated it and their Charley Harper framed serigraph collection to serve as the initial contribution to the Charley and Edie Harper Foundation, which gives a portion of studio profits to advance animal and human welfare.

The framed version of this print is framed with matting as pictured, acid-free and archival mounting, Conservation Clear glass, and modern frame. Comes with dust cover and hanging hardware. Shipped with protective packaging.
